Named for the Normal School, the predecessor of San Diego State University, Normal Heights hit its development stride in the early 1910s with the installation of a streetcar line down Adams Avenue. 

 

Located South of Mission Valley and West of Interstate 15, Normal Heights is a trendy mixed use commercial and residential neighborhood.   Normal Heights annually hosts the largest free music and arts festival in Southern California, the Adams Avenue Street Fair.
