Located north of Torrey Pines and south of Solana Beach is Del Mar.  Development of Del Mar began in the late 19th century with the construction of a beachfront resort known as Casa Del Mar.  A second resort would follow and development of residential property would begin in earnest in the 1920s through the 1930s.
